Twenty-five (25) IP Receives Welding Machines
Special Skills for Training Program (SSTP) beneficiaries received its Starter Toolkits on April 26, 2019 at Brgy. Mt. Diwata Tribal Hall, Monkayo, Compostela Valley Province.
A total of Twenty-five (25) Dibabawon, Subanon and Mandaya Indigenous People (IP) scholars from Brgy. Mt. Diwata, Monkayo had completed their skills training in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I on September 5, 2018-October 11, 2018 or equivalent to 37 days which was conducted by Assumption College of Nabunturan, Inc.
The releasing of toolkit activity was headed by TESDA ComVal Asst. Scholarship Focal Person, Mark Joy S. Salmoren in partnership with Indigenous People Mandatory Representative (IPMR) Datu Patrick M. Andresan.
SSTP is one of the scholarship programs TESDA offers, which primarily prioritized the empowerment of Indigenous People and Cultural Communities through TVET Reintegration Training.
Beneficiaries of this program are also entitled to avail free skills training, free assessment, entrepreneurship training, training support fund, and starter toolkits.
This program will really affect the livelihood of the IPs, as they will use it as one of their source of income.
