37 community integrators to undergo TESDA trainings

DAVAO CITY—A total of 37 community integrators (former rebels) from various provinces will undergo skills trainings catered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) XI.

On Tuesday, May 7, the community integrators from the provinces of Davao del Sur, Compostela Valley and North Cotabato gathered in the Community Integrators Forum at the Sta. Cruz Municipal Training Center, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur to be oriented on the interventions of the national and local government and non-government agencies responsive to their needs.

TESDA XI conducted a profiling of the community integrators to identify their ideal skills trainings that will give access to livelihood.

Relative to their response, TESDA XI will provide skills trainings on driving, welding, and dressmaking under the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TSWP).

TESDA XI Regional Director Engr. Lorenzo Macapili, in his speech, encouraged the participating agencies to create and submit an action plan, saying it will make the program effective and sustainable.

“Government agencies must collaborate in order to strengthen the program implementation. Without convergence, it will only create false hope to the beneficiaries,” Macapili emphasized.

Macapili added that TESDA will continue to act its mandate to help increase the number of employment by providing skills trainings.

The forum, spearheaded by TESDA Davao City/Sur Provincial Office and in collaboration with the local government unit of Sta. Cruz, 39th Infantry Battalion and 2nd Scout Ranger Battalion, aims to strengthen collaborative efforts of the various programs of the national and local government and non-government agencies.

Moreover, the forum is anchored to the implementation of the Executive Order 70 or the “National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict” which is a whole nation approach in attaining the inclusive and sustaining peace in the community, spearheaded by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
