TESDA vies partnership with Sutherland for trainer’s training

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA XI) had expressed nagging desire to forge partnership with Sutherland in the possible conduct of trainer’s capability program during the Discovery Workshop Methodology on June 4, 2019 at the Regional Training Center-Korea Philippines Vocational Training Center, Buhisan, Tibungco, Davao City.

The workshop gathered in a round table discussion the trainers, provincial directors and school and center administrators of TESDA XI who delivered inputs on their current training operations and practices so that Sutherland can ground validate the degree of what has been learned already to identify things to be taught in the capability program.

That said, Sutherland, on their part, can have reasonable revision or modification of its Diskarte Modules soon employed in the capability training for implementation after the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with TESDA, which signifies that the two organizations are true partners.

The Diskarte Module used by Sutherland Master Trainers is hoped to capacitate TESDA trainers on five areas which includes English Proficiency, Customer Service 101, Digital Empowerment Training, Tips on How to Ace an Interview and Financial Wellness (How to Manage Finances).

In his message, TESDA XI Regional Director Engr. Lorenzo G. Macapili, DTE said that the potential partnership is deemed interesting as it will upscale the trainers, which hopefully upgrades their training delivery to produce holistic trainees and graduates, thus making them more employable.

Director Lorenzo also charged a reminder that [TESDA] “is more than skill development” and called the possible partnership beneficial for the agency to improve its services.

“I uprooted you [trainers] from your workshop areas for this one-day event to scale up your skills… you will cascade and become role models” Director Lorenzo told the government servants, the men and women of TESDA XI. He also urged them to give their “zealous commitment” and be “partner forever” in the government service.

Meanwhile, Sutherland also expressed positive mantra that the partnership will be possible come July this year.
