40 IP Women of Talaingod receive training support from TESDA Davao del Norte while preventing COVID19

56th Infantry (Tatag) Battalion Troops in command for imposing social distancing among women IPs

To strengthen the implementation and in support of the Executive Order No. 70 issued by the President Rodrigo R. Duterte, TESDA Davao del Norte continues its effort to support the IP communities in Talaingod, Davao del Norte while practicing precautionary measures against Corona Virus Disease (COVID19).

On March 24, 2020, forty (40) IP women in Sitio Kailawan, Brgy. Sto. Niño, Talaingod, Davao del Norte, who completed TESDA livelihood trainings in beads making and abaca processing last February 26 to March 1, 2020, were provided additional training support to continuously practice their learned skills and be productive while staying at home.

Awareness of the precautionary measures like wearing of face masks, proper handwashing and social distancing were among the ways imposed to them to prevent the spread of said virus. Importance of women’s rights were also conveyed to them as part of the Women’s Month celebration.

The said activity was closely coordinated with the 56th Infantry (Tatag) Battalion and LGU Talaingod to ensure that preventive measures were applied against the spreading of COVID19. These initiatives are part of TESDA’s mandate through the leadership of TESDA Secretary Isidro S. Lapeña and TESDA Region XI Regional Director Lorenzo G. Macapili to support IP communities and other conflict-affected areas.***
